I would choose 1955-1960 in America.
Elvis, cheap gas, tail fins, Monroe, optimism, tail fins, cheap gas, American Dream, future...
Tail fins.
To experience this in my prime (I guess that's 25-30) , I should've been born about 70 years earlier.
Did anyone here live in this era?
If so, was it really as good as Hollywood makes it seem?

But that's the dream!
Plus the pessimist in me still believes we are!

Add that to racism, discrimination, and segregation too.

Lets not forget things we've cured since then, like polio!

I'd pick Detroit, circa 1969. Fast cars, cheap gas, and drag racing up and down woodward.

If I could choose to live in a time period right now at my current age, I would say the late 1970's where the Muscle cars were going down in price and you could get a Huge deal on one.

As a student of history, the years from the end of WWII through the 70's were the biggest boom era this country has ever seen. It gave rise to the true middle class and American products were in great demand the world over. Well known for their quality. Think about all the shuttered factories you see now. Many more have been demolished. This is a sad testament to the industry that was once the driver of our economy.

so beyond all the isms, and the nuke threat, and the currently curable diseases as mentioned below, and the general life expectancy, and the fact that less than 10% of the population had the opportunity to go to college, youd still want to live in that time?
them fins are pretty sweet.
